Transitioning from chicken pellet to reusable litter (tiny rounded pebbles). SET UP: Drilled holes on the bottom of our stainless tray (to serve as strainer) and placed the tray on top of another tray with no holes, to catch the pee. For spacer in between the tray, used retaso pipes at home (about an inch high) DAILY CLEANING: Whole pan is taken to our balcony. Poops are picked and dumped in our worm drum The 2 trays including the tiny pebbles are rinsed with water. Once a week the pebbles including the two trays are soaked in water with bleach. COST: Tray (existing already, but shopee has hotel pans for 499 each) Tiny rounded pebbles are 38 pesos per kilo. I used 6 kilos for 1 tray. COMPARISON TO BIODEGRADABLE LITTER: It's a lot more work for sure, as the tray and pebbles needs to be rinsed at least once daily. But we like this system better as we do not need to buy litter anymore. #reusable #reusablelitter
