Coffee and milk help! Hi! We have slowly been making zero waste swaps at home as we run out of stock of old product. Latest item to be replaced are Nespresso capsules. I considered switching over to another brewing method but since I already have the Nespresso machine, it seemed least wasteful to get reusable capsules. I decided to buy local coffee, but realize now that coffee beans come in plastic mixed with some sort of metal packaging 😢 with Nespresso, I would empty out the grounds and send the alumnium back for recycling. They also deliver plastic free except for the tape on the most outer box. I know there is a lower carbon footprint buying local but I feel bad that my zero waste swap isn’t zero waste 🤦🏻♀️ Hoping for recommendations on zero waste coffee beans or any advice from fellow coffee lovers. (I am home alone with a kid. I can go out for pick ups with our own containers from shops who allow drive by, but we can not enter a grocery store or mall until the lockdown ends) We are also transitioning to plant based milk. I have had delivery of glass bottled milk which is so expensive 😅 I know we can DIY so please suggest where to buy soybeans or nuts for nutmilk. We are located in Greenhills, San Juan. If you know of any bulk or zero waste shops around us also please suggest. Right now we are buying from Makati and BGC for some other household items. Thank you!
